The course provides an overview of the potential content that may be tested on the ambulatory care nursing certification exam.
It is a valuable opportunity to reinforce your knowledge of ambulatory care, identify your weak areas, and learn new information. All topics are offered in an interactive, case problem-solving style to enhance critical thinking.
Course content is based on the Test Content Outline for the ambulatory care nursing certification exam. The target audience is the RN interested in taking the exam, nurses transitioning into ambulatory care, or those who need a refresher of the ambulatory care nursing specialty.
This course does NOT grant certification in ambulatory care nursing.
If you have a group of nurses who are preparing for certification, you may want to host a course at your facility. We will work closely with the practice facilities to customize the logistics of the course as much as possible.
Facilities may purchase Group Access for this course at a discounted rate to groups of 10+ via AAACN’s Online Library at $100 per user. A Group Access purchase permits access to audio content, Power Point slides, and CNE posttest offering 7.9 contact hours via the Online Library for each participant.

For the Certification Review Course (in the first tab above):
"I personally found the Certification Review course the most helpful. While providing an opportunity for continuing education credits, it gave me focus on what to study. Having a pediatric background, it assisted me with much of the adult content. I drilled the booklet of review questions over and over. After a while, I was able to ascertain exactly what was being asked, how to think more about nursing interventions, apply critical thinking instead of just regurgitating facts, and strengthen areas of weakness. I used the Core to read up on content where I lacked confidence.

“The review course was a good jumping point to direct study. I also purchased the Core Curriculum and the Review Questions texts, which helped me identify the things I needed to review. I am a specialty/subspecialty nurse, so the clinical content far-removed from my field made me a bit nervous. I felt the test was similar to most tests now in terms of verbiage, looking for critical thinking, etc.”

Passed the exam June, 2015
"I attended the Ambulatory Care Nursing Certification Review Course in May 2014 at the conference. I am very happy with that experience. I took my exam on July 20th and passed. Thanks so much for making the Review Course available. I have told all of my friends about the workshop and anticipate many of them will be attending one in the future!"
