AAACN Signs on to Telehealth Petition

At the end of 2009, AAACN signed on to an American Telemedicine Association (ATA) petition urging Congress to expand Medicare's coverage for telehealth and telemedicine, as follows: telemedicine services should be available for all Medicare beneficiaries regardless of where they live; services should be available from any Medicare approved facility and by any Medicare approved practitioner; benefits should be extended to all 50 states; and use of home telehealth and other forms of remote monitoring for chronically ill patients should be a recognized and reimbursable component in
